Jarrett has qualified very well in round 1, but had been let down by race starts. He came to Brands Hatch for round 2 having worked on his race starts during the week, and was in good form. Jarrett set the fastest lap time in first free practice session.
Qualification was difficult, as the field was split in to two as their were too many entrants, and in Jarrett’s group, there was a red flag half way through qualification. In the end Jarrett qualified 12th fastest with his fastest lap, and 10th fastest with his second fastest lap. For the three races, this meant he started 10th in the first race, 1st in second race (top 12 reverse grid) and 12th for the final race.
Jarrett did well in the first race to make up four places and finish well in the points in 6th. This included overtaking two cars from a mid-race restart, a pleasing improvement from the previous round.
In the second race, Jarrett started from the front, and showing the pace he had in practice, led from start to finish. He also had fastest lap, finishing well ahead of the second place finisher.
The final race took place after a period of rain. At the start of the race half the field switched to slicks, while half stayed on wets tires. Jarrett was on wets. The rain held off, and the track dried which saw the drivers on slicks swamp all the drivers on wet tires by the end of the race.
Despite issues with qualification, Jarrett showed great speed and a good starts. He looks well set for the 3rd round at Snetterton.
