Since the excitement of Champions of the Future in Valencia where Jarrett finished 11th in the final, there have been two more events: FIA in Valencia and Champions of the Future in Val D’Argenton in France. On a positive note, in practice and in some races, Jarrett was fastest on track. But in both events, despite having speed Jarrett had disappointing qualification laps, meaning he started away from the front in heats.
In some heats, Jarrett was able to use his speed to gain many places.
However in highly competitive events, with large fields of over 100 karters, one mistake can be very punishing. Overtaking can be very risky in OK Classes, as any error can see you drop 5 or 6 places or more quickly.
In both events, while trying to gain places, Jarrett suffered collisions that forced him out of heats, making it very difficult for him to do well. However on the positive side, he showed real pace. Once again, it all comes down to having a a good qualification.
Jarrett is back in France for the second round of the FIA Championship next week.
