July saw Jarrett in Sweden for most of the month, racing at the excellent Kristianstad Karting Club.
With two events, the Champions of the Future and the fourth and final round of the FIA European Karting Championship, and testing before, Jarrett spent most of July in Sweden.
While fast at this track, the recurring problem of poor qualifying reared its head. In Champions of the Future, Jarrett qualified 49th fastest out of 100 drivers before making up many places throughout the heats to 26th, which meant he qualified for the final where he was hit off the track by another competitor.
At FIA European Karting Championship, Jarrett with a serious lack of pace qualified 64th fastest. Jarrett then did well in heats, making multiple overtakes, but in a high quality field there is always a limit to how many places you can make up. Jarrett to qualify for the final for the top 36 drivers, but two crashes that were beyond his control ended his run.
Why is qualification so hard? Well there are lot of very good teams and good drivers this season, and generally speaking no team has dominated. Also Jarrett now being thirteen has grown substantially this season, making setup more difficult and complicated.
Other than qualification, Jarrett has driven very well this year, and is setting himself up well for the next season in motorsport.
