There were two rounds of Ginetta Junior Championship in July: Snetterton and Zandvoort.
Snetterton
We went into the weekend feeling very positive however it ended up being the most difficult weekend of the season. We were unusually slow during official practice requiring an engine change before qualifying. Despite that we just seemed to be plagued with unknown technical issues with the car throughout the races which hampered performance. Despite finishing all races, the end results were disappointing.
Zandvoort
We then moved on a week later to the highly anticipated overseas race at the famous Zandvoort circuit in the Netherlands. Our first ever race abroad in a car. It was also our first race at a circuit with heavily banked corners - a real feature of Zandvoort.
With improvements made since the last race Jarrett was able to secure P10 and P8 in qualifying. Race 1 was a mixed bag of multiple incidents across the field . A penalty for Jarrett resulted in a P13 finish
Races 2 and 3 were markedly better. For race 2, some good battles and clean racing resulted in a P6 finish from P8. On the final lap he was in P4, but without a tow, ended up losing out on the line by 100ths of a second. Race 3, he dropped to P11 from P6 following a small incident in the first few laps, however a good recovery to P7 before the race being ended early following a major incident.
Overall some very positive results and a great experience and opportunity at Zandvoort. His best races of the season.
