The final FIA event of the racing season is the big one - the World Karting Championship. Over a 120 drivers came to Franciacorta in Italy to try and win the greatest prize in karting. The event was first held over 60 years ago.
Jarrett continued his run of good qualifying, finishing 6th in his group, which meant he would have good track positions in his heats. With such a large group of drivers, there were 6 heats to compete in, and with mainly top 10 finishes Jarrett qualified 24th out of 125 drivers.
Super heats, where only the top 72 drivers compete had been an area of focus for Jarrett. And when it counted the most, Jarrett put in one his best drives of the season. Despite a tricky start, Jarrett finished strongly, overtaking three karts in one corner to finish 11th, and set himself up for his best ever final start of 23rd.
Jarrett’s previous final at Champions of the Future saw him go out early in a crash. This time he avoided any crashes to finish in 22nd on track, and his best finals position. His aim was to be consistently finishing finals by the end of the season, which he is now doing. This sets him up for next year, where he goes from being a younger less experienced driver, to an older more mature driver. So now the hard work needs to continue with the last remaining races of 2023 and plenty of testing is required to be ready for what Jarrett is hoping to be an exciting 2024 season.
