Superb driving in the heats, but undone in the Superheat

This week we went to Slovakia for the Champions of the Future Round 3. He did not get a clean run in qualification, which left him 11th in his group, and 31st overall. This was not an auspicious start to the weekend.

But in the heats Jarrett drove superbly, making up places from 11th in all five heats to finish 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th. Even more impressively, the Slovakian track is narrow, bumpy and technical, and many other drivers suffered at least one bad heat. With his consistency, Jarrett was classified 8th overall after the heats. His best intermediate classification yet!

In his superheat Jarrett was starting 4th, but dangerous driving by another driver cost him places, he finished 10th on track but an in-race penalty of 5 seconds was applied to him so he finished 17th, which led him to start 14th in the final.

A crash in the final meant that Jarrett did not get any points, but his fantastic driving in the heats saw him score some points in the championship and moved him to 24th in the standings, out of 130 drivers. A good showing in the super heat and final would have put Jarrett in contention for high ranks in the championship, but it was not to be.
